**About the Role** We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Database Migration Architect to lead a significant migration project involving legacy databases. This role will focus on transitioning databases such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server to Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will ensure that the migration process maintains data integrity, provides high availability, facilitates disaster recovery, optimizes performance, and ensures minimal downtime. **Key Responsibilities** - Lead the migration strategy and execution of legacy databases to Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL. - Ensure data integrity and optimal performance throughout the migration process. - Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions to maintain robust database environments. - Collaborate with project stakeholders to define migration requirements and timelines. - Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align migration efforts with organizational objectives. - Develop and maintain documentation related to the migration process and post-migration support. - Conduct performance analysis and tuning to enhance database efficiency post-migration. - Provide expert guidance on AWS best practices and tools for database migration. **Must-Have Qualifications** - Minimum 7 years of experience with database management and migration. - Proven experience in migrating databases to Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL. - Background in handling database modernization at an enterprise level. - Strong knowledge of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server. - Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. - Familiarity with AWS architecture and cloud migration methodologies. - Authorized to work legally without requiring visa sponsorship. **Nice-to-Have** - AWS Certified Database Specialty certification. - Experience with data analytics and visualization tools. - Familiarity with DevOps practices and automation tools for database environments. - Experience working in a cloud-first organization.
